TART Opens [title of show] Wednesday, October 14
Performances Run Through November 8
$10 Tickets Available for Opening Week!
TART is doing it again! Tacoma’s newest theatre company is opening its second production in two weeks – the Tony and Obie Award-winning musical [title of show].
About the Musical
This charming and funny musical with a book by Hunter Bell and music and lyrics by Jeff Bowen is an autobiographical spin on what happens when two friends, aptly named Hunter and Jeff, have just three weeks to finish an original musical if they hope to enter it into the New York Musical Theater Festival. With the deadline looming, they enlist the help of their friends and fellow thespians, Susan and Heidi. When the show is selected for a festival production, the four friends find themselves with a hit on their hands – and all of the complications that come with it. When the show opened in New York, The New York Times called it the “class clown” of musicals that “wins you over with its own distinctive personality.”
About the Production
The TART production features area actors Joel Domenico as Hunter, Zach Sanders as Jeff, Deva Ozburn as Susan, Amanda Norman as Heidi, and Gregory Smith as Larry. The show was directed by TART Artistic Director Jen Tidwell, with musical direction by Gregory Smith and choreography by Kendra Pierce.
[title of show] opens Wednesday, October 14, and runs through Sunday, November 8, in rotating repertory with TART’s production of Jeffrey Hatcher’s Three Viewings. Evening performances are at 8 PM; weekend matinees are at 2 PM. Visit www.tacomarep.org for a complete schedule of performances. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling 253-353-2282.
